Release Date: 05 November 2012
Supported Platforms:
- Windows Server 2003
- Windows Server 2003 R2
- Windows Server 2008
- Windows Server 2003 R2
Description:
Exinda appliances now support integration into Microsoft's Active Directory (AD). To use this feature,Exinda's AD Windows Agent needs to be installed onto all Domain Controllers with AD capabilities.
Note (for Windows 2008 Server only): Windows 2008 comes with a new feature called User Access Control (UAC). UAC means that all processes are launched in restricted mode unless users specifically accept the elevated privileges confirmation. The Exinda AD connector installation needs elevated privileges if installed by user belonging to the "Administrators" group. In such a scenario the Exinda AD installer will display an error message and stop the installation. Running the installer using "Run as Administrator" (right-click the installer) should resolve this. Note that installations done by the "Administrator" user are not affected by this.
